Mineralogical particularities, geologicals and tecnologicals implications on the auro-telluride deposit Florencia. Cuba
Main Article Content
Abstract
Guaimaro-Jobabo (Jobabo mining preserve) began since colonial times and continued in operations until the middle of the last century. Prospects and manifestations with gold of different genetic types that was been studied in different phases of geological research are known in its surroundings. Detailed investigations on the substantial composition of the ores and rocks of the Florencia deposit, selected as a pattern, allowed us to argue metallogenic forecasts in analogous areas. The analysis of the partial results of interdisciplinary studies developed by the authors, publications in specialized journals and data from other authors, as well as modern mineral research techniques carried out in Cuba and in laboratories in different countries allowed us to provide new data on the substantial composition of the ores, the forms in which the gold and silver concentrating minerals are found, as well as their influence on the concentrates. The previously proposed mineralogical classification for this deposit was confirmed. The minerals that concentrate valuable elements: native gold, electrum and minerals from the telluride group of Au and Ag, as well as minerals of Te, Ag, Bi, Ni and Pb. Based on its mineralogical type and its physical-chemical parameters, Florencia was classified as auro-telluridic, formed at shallow depths and low temperatures
