Abstract

The research is projected given the need to search for clay prospect areas to increase the production of bricks, criollo tiles, floor tiles and other elements of clay, to be used in housing construction and other social works of the municipality of San Luis, which would guarantee the necessary raw material to supply the municipality, contributing to the increase in the production of necessary resources for the population. The milestones followed for the development of the topics that make up this research, start from a geological survey of the area, where this clay material lies, with the corresponding study of a number of representative samples of criollo wells. To carry out this work, different methods were included, such as: geological itineraries, mining and laboratory work. Through the use of advanced combined instrumental techniques: Granulometry, Atomic Emission Spectroscopy with Inductive Fusion and Coupled Plasma (ICP - AES), as well as their physical-mechanical and chemical properties. Which allowed; note that this clayey material presents the optimal conditions to be used in the production of bricks.
